UTV Accessories: A Buyers Guide
Your utility vehicle is a powerhouse, whether you use it for off-road adventures or just as a compact workhorse. But there’s a chance your UTV isn’t working at its full potential, and with the right accessories and supplies, you can work and play harder, more efficiently, and more safely. We here at Arizona Honda want to make sure you’re getting the most from your tools and toys, so we’ve put together some side-by-side necessities. To learn more about these accessories and supplies, or to see the UTVs we have for sale, contact our store in Snowflake, Arizona. We also serve Show Low and Holbrook, Arizona
Winch
One of the best possible add-ons for your utility vehicle is a winch. These are simple upgrades that can help your side-by-side do anything from clearing heavy obstacles like tree stumps or boulders, to pulling the UTV or another vehicle out of a ditch or other sticky situation. Hunters might also find use for a winch, using it to pull their game to a better area for dressing. There’s a variety of winch types, sizes, and styles out there, including wire and synthetic cable or powered options. Just make sure to match the witch's power supply to your utility vehicle’s to avoid unnecessary battery drain.
Enclosed Cab
It can be nice to have the wind on your face, but an open-air cab isn’t great if you’re in a damp environment or extreme temperatures. With an enclosed cab, however, you get more protection from the elements, bugs, airborne debris and dust, and more! Enclosed cabs are also a necessary first step to climate control, so if you want AC or heat on your ride, you’ll want this first. Even if your side-by-side doesn’t have an enclosed cab, upgrade kits are available and easy enough to install yourself.
LED Lighting
One of the most important factors when driving any vehicle is safety, and you can’t be safe if you can’t see. Whether you’re on a trail, exploring nature, or just on your own property, good lighting makes a world of difference. LED headlights can replace the standard halogen lights many UTVs come with to provide better forward visibility, and LED light bars can be installed on all sides to improve general visibility as well. Just watch your battery—more lights means more power drain.
Emergency Supplies
While we’re talking about safety, we have to remind you that as durable as your utility vehicle may be, your body has its limits. The unpredictable environments that UTVs are best in can be extremely dangerous, so always bring along a toolkit for your side-by-side and a first aid kit for you.
